Taylorsville’s only Urgent Care facility is closing at least for a while.
Urgent Care of Mountain View is announcing a temporary relocation of its Taylorsville clinic. They say a new operation will be built on Macedonia Church Road.
According to a statement:
“Beginning Wednesday, June 25, all services will be provided at the Urgent Care of Mountain View – North Hickory Clinic. The North Hickory location will serve as a temporary home while the new Taylorsville facility is being built. The address for the North Hickory clinic is 3022 North Center St. A, Hickory.”
Alexander County has already been without a hospital for 18 years. The Urgent Care of Mountain View began service to Taylorsville in 2013 . They have leased a building owned by the Town of Taylorsville. The Town and the business have been at odds on the cost of rent and a frequent flooding issue on the property.
Town officials say they first contacted the Urgent Care of Mountain View in February about negotiating a new agreement but did not hear back after repeated emails and phone calls.
That led to the decision by the town to cut off the water service for a period in April.
