Taylorsville Woman Arrested On Felony Drug Charge

Following a traffic stop on Monday, Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested April Dawn Atwood, age 44 of Taylorsville. She was charged with felony possession of fentanyl, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Atwood was placed without bond in the Alexander County Detention Center.

Atwood has a previous pending charge in Alexander County for possession of a firearm by a felon. In Burke County, Atwood is awaiting trial for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
