Taylorsville Man Returned To Custody

Samuel Ray Lear, age 44 of Taylorsville, was detained on Thursday. He was charged with violating conditions of his pre-trial release.

He was arrested by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on April 10th and charged with assault on a female and interfering with emergency communication. Lear also has pending charges in Alexander County for felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, shoplifting and resisting arrest.

In Iredell County, Lear is awaiting trial for felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false information to law enforcement.

As of earlier today, Lear remained in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $100,000.
