Taylorsville Police Nab Fugitive

On Thursday, around 5:30PM, officers with Taylorsville Police Department arrested 51-year-old Matthew James Dury. The suspect is listed as homeless.

Dury had an active warrant from the US Marshals for a violation of probation conditions. He was on probation for possession of obscene material and is listed as a registered sex offender. The N.C. Sex Offender Registry lists a 2008 federal conviction for receipt of child pornography, with a 204-month prison sentence. He was released in 2023, with 15 years of probation to follow.

Dury is currently on a hold with no bond until picked up by the US Marshals.
