Taylorsville Police Officers attempted to stop a motorcycle operator on Thursday afternoon. The biker was spotted running a traffic light with an unreadable license tag. Officers pursued the bike on Highway 16 North with the suspect biker refusing to stop and traveling at a high rate of speed. Taylorsville Chief of Police Michael Millsaps said that his officers terminated the chase near the Wilkes County Line. He said the decision to halt the chase was due to safety concerns.
The NC Highway Patrol also terminated their pursuit.
