Kermit Shane Hammonds, age 50 of Pembroke, North Carolina, was arrested on Wednesday by the Taylorsville Police Department. He has been charged with felony attempting to obtain property by false pretense. Hammonds is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a bond listed at $5,000. An initial court appearance is scheduled for Monday, March 25th in Taylorsville.
