Taylorsville Police Arrest Another Suspect At Local WalMart

August 11, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

Lindsey Parker Roy II

On Sunday, August 10, at approximately 10:00 PM, Taylorsville Police Officers responded to the local Walmart after employees reported a suspicious male subject who appeared to be intoxicated and was loading multiple shopping carts with merchandise.

The suspect, identified as Lindsey Parker Roy II, age 52 of Buckhannon, West Virginia, was found with eight shopping carts filled throughout the store. When approached by officers and Walmart staff, Roy appeared disoriented and claimed he intended to purchase the items. Moments later, he abandoned the carts and exited through the front door wearing a pair of boots he had taken from the store.

Officers stopped Roy in the parking lot and escorted him back inside to speak with Walmart asset protection. During a search, officers located a small container on his person containing multiple pills. While being escorted for further investigation, Roy threw a large container into the store’s photo lab area. The container was found to contain Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Xanax, and Clonazepam, all Schedule II and Schedule IV controlled substances.

It was also discovered that Roy had abandoned a cart of frozen food, which had spoiled, resulting in a $312.21 loss. In total, officers seized 165 dosage units of prescription medication.

Roy was transported to the Alexander County Detention Center and charged with:

• (2) Counts Simple Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance
• (2) Counts Simple Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance
• Possession of Marijuana up to ½ oz
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
• Injury to Personal Property
• Misdemeanor Larceny

As of earlier today, Roy remains in the Alexander County Detention Center with bond set at $25,000.
