Taylorsville Man, Stony Point Woman Arrested Monday Night

On Monday, October 21, at approximately 12:35 PM, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Taylorsville Police Department, arrested Codey James Matheson, a 32-year-old male resident of Taylorsville. He was taken into custody at a location in Stony Point.

Matheson faces the following charges:

One count of Trafficking Methamphetamine
One count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver a Controlled Substance
One count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Following his arrest, Matheson has been placed without bond in the Alexander County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in District Court on October 28.

At the same location, officers arrested 34-year-old Brittany Leigh Anna Burks of Stony Point.

Burks faces the following charges:
Resist, Delay, and Obstruct an Officer
Possession of a Weapon by a Prisoner ( A Knife )
Making a False Police Report

She was placed under a secured bond of $17,500.00 and is scheduled for her first appearance in District Court on October 28, 2024.
