Taylorsville Man Sentenced To Serve 120 Days In Jail

Michael Jovi Simmons, age 38 of Taylorsville, was sentenced to serve 120 days in Alexander County District Court on Monday. Simmons was sentenced on a 2024 charge of defrauding a drug/alcohol test.

Simmons has a series of previous charges still awaiting trial including a 2023 charge of possession of a firearm by a felon, felony probation violation, felony possession of methamphetamine and multiple counts of driving with license revoked.
