Taylorsville Man Nabbed After Allegedly Stealing Items From Multiple Businesses

On May Saturday, May 30th, 2026, Officers with the Taylorsville Police Department arrested 42-year-old Joshua Scott Simpson of Jay Burke RD., Taylorsville. He faces three counts of Misdemeanor Larceny.

The investigation revealed that Simpson stole merchandise from multiple businesses, including Walmart, Tractor Supply, Dollar General, and Ace Hardware. Items allegedly stolen include trees and potting soil. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.

Simpson was issued a $3,000 secured bond and is awaiting his next court appearance.
