Taylorsville Man Jailed On Felony Charges

Taylorsville Police have arrested a man following and alleged assault on Monday. Brandon Lee Goins, age 31, of 2nd Ave. North, Taylorsville was charged with felony assault by pointing a gun, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony larceny of a motor vehicle. Goins is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center.

The suspect has an extensive criminal history. He was given a suspended sentence on October 6th, 2025 in Alexander County for possession of a firearm by a felon. In 2023, Goins was convicted for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, injury to real property and larceny. He was given a suspended sentence for those convictions as well.
