Taylorsville Man Jailed After Vehicle Pursuit

Mark Wesley Clanton, age 50 of Taylorsville, was arrested overnight by Taylorsville Police and charged with flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle. He’s being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $10,000 with a June 6th court date.

Clanton has a previous charge pending in Catawba County for possession of a firearm by a felon. That Superior Court date is July 22nd in Newton.
