Taylorsville Man Gets Prison Time After Plea Agreement

A Taylorsville man will spend time in prison.

Jason Lee Barnes, age 47, entered a plea in Alexander County Superior Court on Monday to charges of felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a felon. He will serve 19-32 months in the state prison system. The charges stem from an arrest by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office in June, 2024.

As of earlier today, Barnes was still in local custody awaiting transfer.
