Taylorsville Man Facing Charges

James Ashley Sweet, 45 of Taylorsville, was taken into custody on Saturday in Alexander County on charges that include larceny, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains in the Alexander County Detention Center as of earlier today with bond set for $46,500.

Sweet was released from prison in August of 2023 after serving a 14 year sentence for a series of convictions including felony breaking and entering and larceny and felony larceny of motor vehicles.
