Taylorsville Man Enters Plea For Making Bomb Threat To Courthouse

A Taylorsville man was recently sentenced to prison after entering a plea for making a false bomb threat to a public building.

On November 4th, 2024, a call was received by the Clerk of Courts Office indicating a bomb was located in the Alexander County Courthouse. The structure was evacuated and a search was conducted. No device was found.

Later in the day, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Lawton Headden, age 37.

Headden is serving a sentence of 6-17 month in the Granville Correctional Institute in Oxford.
