Davin Lashawn Smith, 35 of Taylorsville, was arrested by Hickory Police on Friday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, hit and run with property damage and resisting a public officer. He is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center under a bond listed at $10,000. A court appearance is scheduled for Monday in Newton.
