Jeremy Micheal Palmer
The Honorable Sherri W. Elliott, Superior Court Judge from Catawba County, imposed terms of the active sentence after Palmer entered a guilty plea. He also was assessed a mandatory fine of $50,000.
Deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle driven by Palmer for failure to display a tag on July 9, 2022. During the stop, a K-9 unit alerted to the presence of drugs, and a search was conducted. During the search, deputies found methamphetamine. Palmer admitted that he had recently purchased the drugs.
The State Crime Lab confirmed that the methamphetamine seized met the threshold for a trafficking amount. Ian Ruark and Daniel Ikard handled the investigation for the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant District Attorney Ashlynn Nelson prosecuted the matter for the State with aid from Legal Assistant Jordan Arney.
