Taylorsville Man Charged With Resisting Arrest While Being Served Arrest Warrants

Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched on Monday to serve arrest warrants for 36-year old of Michael Jovi Simmons of Taylorsville.

Simmons attempted to flee the scene when Deputies arrived but was quickly apprehended and charged with resisting arrest.

Warrants served date back to earlier in the year and include felony probation violation, possession of a firearm by a felon and driving with license revoked.

Simmons was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $52,500. His next court appearance is set for January 2nd.
