Yancey Obrian Tanner, age 33 of Taylorsville, was arrested on Monday and charged with failure to register as a sex-offender. Tanner is on the sex-offender registry based on a 2011 conviction in Georgia for statutory rape. He served 10 years in prison for the offense. As of earlier today, Tanner remained in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond.
