Taylorsville Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase In Catawba County

Justin David Pope, age 31 River Hills CT., Taylorsville, is facing a long list of charges after his arrest early Saturday morning. Arrest documentation indicates that Pope, while operating a Ford Mustang led the N.C. Highway Patrol on a high-speed chase, on Interstate 40 in Catawba County. Pope reached speeds in excess of 115 mph according the Highway Patrol. The following charges have been filed

Felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle
Reckless driving to endanger
Failure to heed blue light or siren
Improper passing on right
Speeding
Possession of marijuana
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Expire registration

Pope is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $40,000. He is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Monday, October 5th.
