Taylorsville Home Suffers Heavy Fire Damage Monday Morning

A Taylorsville home was destroyed by fire Monday morning.

Central Alexander, Hiddenite, Witenburg and Stony Point Fire Departments were called to 1251 Paul Payne Store Road around 10:30 am. Alexander EMS also responded.

Alexander County Fire Marshall Mark Earle says the dwelling was heavily damaged but no injuries were reported. The structure was occupied. Earle says the cause of the blaze in under investigation but the fire appears to be accidental.

The Red Cross is assisting residents.
