Fire destroyed a dwelling Sunday morning in Taylorsville.
Central Alexander (Taylorsville), Ellendale and Wittenburg Fire Departments were dispatched to 36 Matthew Drive around 11:30am. A mobile home structure was ablaze when units arrived.
Alexander County Fire Marshall Mark Earle said Monday morning that the 6 occupants of the dwelling escaped the flames but the structure is a total loss. Earle says the fire is not suspicious and the cause is likely electrical or perhaps caused by smoking.
The Red Cross is assisting the residents.
