Taylorsville Fugitive Captured

A Taylorsville man considered a fugitive is in custody. 23-year old Kellyn Page Odaniel was apprehended on Friday by Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies. He was served warrants for failure to appear on charges that date to a 2024 arrest. Odaniel along with four other suspects were arrested by the Sheriff’s Office following an alleged armed robbery on Three Forks Church Road.

As reported by B86 Radio, on May 17th, 2024, at around 5:51 pm, the Alexander County 911 center received a call of an armed robbery on Three Forks Church Rd. The caller also stated that they were following the vehicle and gunshots had been fired fired. The caller continued to follow the vehicle. The suspect vehicle was stopped at Barrett Mountain Rd and Church Rd by Taylorsville Police. Alexander County Deputies then met with the victims who stated that they were robbed of around $140 cash at gunpoint. The victim states the weapon used looked like a UZI pistol. Officers continued their investigation. A search of the suspect vehicle resulted in Officers locating a Mac 9 pistol. No injuries occurred.

Later that day Odaniel was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Going armed to the terror of the people. O’Daniel was placed under a no bond. After a court appearance a Judge set bond at $155,000.

Officers continued the investigation which led to the address of 765 Old Wilkesboro Rd in Taylorsville.
Investigators found the residence had been broken into. Deputies started an investigation of the Breaking and Entering. Video surveillance at the residence showed a picture of the victim’s vehicle of the Armed Robbery from earlier that day. The residence had been ransacked and property had been taken. Officers located the suspect vehicle involved in the Breaking and Entering, and it was stopped just outside of Taylorsville on Hwy 90 West. Officers found the stolen property that was taken during the Breaking and Entering.

Odaniel is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center, charged with failure to appear on charges of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony possession of cocaine. Bond is listed at $300,000.
