A 4 person bipartisan team, 2 democrats, 2 republicans hand counted (2) voting group samples as required by law. The samples randomly selected by the NC State Board of Elections were all absentee by mail ballots and all early voting ballots. Hand counted results were compared to the tabulated results. Only 1 variance was identified. This variance was permitted and caused due to human error. A voter failed to fill in the write-in oval but wrote in a name in the write in line.
