Taylorsville Accident Leads To Standoff

January 24, 2024 By Richard C. Gilbert

Main Street in Taylorsville is closed from 6th street to Liledoun Road.

A motorist struck at least two utility poles around 1:30 pm.

When emergency crews arrived the driver of the vehicle was holding a gun to their head and threatening suicide.

Taylorsville Police Chief Michael Millsaps says the driver is “Ok” but said he could not provide any other details at this time.

The person involved has been taken from the scene.

As a precaution both Taylorsville Elementary and Alexander Central High Schools were placed on a brief Code-In status.

Update: Main Street was re-opened around 10pm on Wednesday.
