Suspected Meth Traffickers Busted In Caldwell County

Caldwell County Sheriff Kevin H. Bean announced that on July 22, Patrol Deputies and Narcotics Agents with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Lenoir Police Department and NC SBI made an arrest of two Methamphetamine traffickers.

Amber Nichole Moretz, age 33, of Lenoir, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine. She was placed in the Caldwell Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.

Thomas Craig Harden, age 43, of Connelly Springs, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine. He was placed in the Caldwell Detention Center under a $350,000 secured bond.

Moretz and Harden were stopped as they traveled on Hwy 321 in Granite Falls. During the interaction, K-9 Jade of the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle. A search was conducted, and Officers located approximately 392 grams of Methamphetamine.

The drugs seized during the investigation have a total street value of $58,000 according to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines.
