Newton Police arrested a suspected drug trafficker on Sunday. 29-year old Christopher Jay Lynch of Newton is charged with multiple counts of felony trafficking opium or heroin, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, damage to real property, reckless driving, failure to heed blue light or siren and resisting a public officer. He is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $110,000. Lynch is scheduled to make a court appearance today.
