HICKORY, N.C. – Senior Madi Suddreth has been dynamic all season for the Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Basketball Team, and this week her hard work payed off as the South Atlantic Conference named her the Astroturf Women’s Basketball SAC Player of the Week Monday morning.
The Taylorsville, N.C. native was a key cog in the Bears’ 78-75 road upset over No. 20 Carson-Newman last Wednesday. The senior stuffed the stat sheet with a season-high 30 points, seven rebounds while adding two takeaways and two blocks. Suddreth shot almost 60 percent from the field and 90 percent from the free-throw line.
The Preseason All-SAC selection leads the team in points scored (15.8) and is fourth in the conference in field goal percentage (52.8 percent).
The Bears look to keep up their winning ways on the road as they travel to Anderson on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.
