Stony Point Resident Already In Jail Now Facing Felony Drug Offense

A Stony Point woman already in jail is now facing a felony drug charge.

On August 20th, 41-year-old Leah Michelle Downer, Old Concord RD., was served a warrant dating back to 2024 for school attendance law violation. She has been detained since. On Wednesday, she was served warrants from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office for felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Court documentation shows the drug charge dates back to June 29th.

Downer is being held in the county detention center under a secured bond of $25,000.
