Stony Point Man Placed In Slammer Wednesday Morning

39-year-old Johnny Lynn Chapman of Thunder Road, Stony Point, was taken into custody just past 5am on Wednesday by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.

He is charged with

Felony habitual domestic violence
Crime of domestic violence
Assault on a female

Chapman has an extensive list of charges and convictions involving domestic issues in addition to convictions for larceny, larceny of a motor vehicle, obtaining property by false pretense, driving while license revoked and driving while impaired. He is also on pre-trial release for felony possession of methamphetamine. Chapman is listed in a court document filed on Wednesday as “posing a threat to the public.”

A mandatory 48-hour hold has been enforced prior to bond being set.
