Stony Point Man Who Served Over 24 Years For Rape Is Jailed After Violation Of Parole Status

Garry Lewis Beckhham, age 74 of Stony Point, was taken into custody by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, October 13th and charged with felony parole violation. He was placed in the Alexander County Jail and held without bond.

In 1999, Beckham was convicted of first-degree rape in Alexander County. He served 24 years and 9 months in state prison before being released in May, 2022. Beckham was required to be placed on the sex-offender registry for ten years upon his release from prison.
