Stony Point Man Jailed After Firing Shots Into Occupied Vehicle This Morning

A Stony Point man was arrested Friday morning after allegedly firing shots into an occupied vehicle.

Alexander County Deputies responded to a location in Stony Point shortly after midnight and arrested 30-year-old Ethan Scott Young and charged him with felony discharging a weapon into occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon. He remains in custody with bond set at $225,000. Sheriff Chad Pennell says there were no injuries.

Young was convicted for a 2022 incident. He served more than two-years in prison for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury.
