Stony Point Man Facing Charges In Three Counties

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year old David Earl Welch of Stony Point on June 25th and charged him with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance. As of earlier today, Welch remains in the Iredell County Detention Center under a secured bond of $30,000.

In Alexander County, Welch is awaiting trial on charges of failure to report disappearance of a child and misdemeanor child abuse. July 27th is listed as the court date on those charges in Taylorsville.

Catawba County pending charges against Welch include felony possession of methamphetamine. A Superior Court appearance is set for August 19th in Newton.
