Stony Point Man Arrested On Iredell County Drug Warrants

On Thursday November 18, Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 349 East Lackey Farm Road, near Stony Point.

Investigators received information that 41-year old Richard Eugene Wingate Jr was involved in the sale of illegal drugs. A surveillance operation was established in the area. Narcotics Investigators and Road Patrol Deputies were able to make contact with individuals who had recently visited Wingate’s home. Those people were found to be in possession of narcotics.

Undercover officers were able to eventually purchase narcotics from the residence and directly from Wingate. A search warrant was executed. Wingate and a female were located inside the home. During the search investigators located crystal methamphetamine.

Wingate was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with arrest warrants for: Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Crystal Methamphetamine, and Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance. He was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center with a secured bond of $50,000.
