Stony Point Man Arrested For Felony Offense

A Stony Point man was arrested on Wednesday, May 29th by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. James Lattimore Springs, age 46, was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $20,000. He is no longer listed in custody.

Springs has a long list of previous convictions. The most recent was in Iredell County in 2021 for assault with intent to inflect serious injury.

An Alexander County District Court appearance is scheduled for today.
