Statesville Woman’s Death Now Considered A Homicide

The death of a Statesville woman has been ruled a homicide according to Statesville Police. Shelbie Smith, age 33, was found dead in her home on Hickory Avenue in Statesville around 4am on Saturday, May 1st.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Statesville Police Department at 704-878-3516.

Investigators has yet to provide any other details concerning the death.
