A Statesville woman was found dead inside her home on Saturday morning. Statesville Police were called to the home on Hickory Avenue just after 4 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found the body of 33-year-old Shelbie Smith inside the residence.
The Statesville Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, is investigating the death.
