Statesville Teen Charged With Child-Sex Crimes Appears In Alexander County Court Today

A Statesville teenager charged last week with a series of sex crimes involving a juvenile is scheduled to make a court appearance today in Taylorsville.

18-year old Edward Gary Rasiewicz Jr. was taken into custody last Thursday by Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies . He was charged with 18 counts of Felony Statutory Sex Offense and 12 counts of Sexual Battery.

Last November, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office received a report about the possible Indecent liberty of a fourteen year old. The Iredell County Department of Social Services and Taylorsville Police Department assisted in the investigation. According to the complaint the incidents occurred from June 2021 to November 2021.

The suspect remains in the Alexander County Detention with a secured bond of $150,000.
