Statesville Police Nab Suspected Drug Dealer

The Statesville Police Department’s Narcotics Division, in collaboration with the Statesville Police Department’s Special Response Team, executed a search warrant at 1154 Mahogany Road on January 17. This operation came in response to community complaints regarding drug sales allegedly conducted by Tony John Young, a 34-year-old male residing at the residence.

During the execution of the search warrant, Officers located crack cocaine, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a Mini Draco AK-47 style pistol, which investigators were able to link to Young.

Young is a convicted felon with a prior record, currently on probation for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Following the search and the recovery of illegal drugs and firearms, Young was charged with Firearm by Felon, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Methamphetamine . He is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $62,500 bond.
