Statesville Minister Shot And Killed, Spouse Has Been Charged

A Statesville minister was shot and killed in Charlotte on April 6. The Pastor’s husband is charged with her death.

Tammy McCollum, 58, was a minister at The Well Worship Center in Statesville and was listed as a Charlotte resident.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Police say they have charged McCollum’s husband, Eddie McCollum, with her death. Eddie McCollum, 61, was arrested on a felony charge of first-degree murder. A Mecklenburg County Grand Jury indicted him on April 13, according to court documents.

An affidavit filed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Tammy McCollum was shot in the head. The document said Eddie McCollum called 911 and told the operator he shot his wife at their home on Cardington Court in Charlotte after 2 a.m. on April 6.
