Statesville man Nabbed During Traffic Stop

Monday morning, April 14th, Iredell County Deputy J. Lee conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Bailey Farm Road and Wilkesboro Highway due to a registration violation.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Deputy Lee made contact with the driver, identified as Steven Lamont Bailey, 51, of Statesville. During the interaction, deputies developed probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle.The search resulted in the discovery of a substantial quantity of illegal narcotics, including approximately 22.5 dosage units of Ecstasy, 5.96 grams of Fentanyl, 11 dosage units of Alprazolam, 6 dosage units of Morphine, 2 dosage units of Oxycodone, and 20 grams of Marijuana. Deputies also located multiple items of drug paraphernalia, which were packaged separately in a manner consistent with the intent to sell and deliver.

Bailey was placed under arrest and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where his being held under a secured bond of $250,000
