Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that Friday morning, March 27th, at approximately 7:13 AM, B Squad Deputies responded to the Pilch Road area after receiving reports of a man attempting to force his way into two separate homes.
Officers were able to locate and arrest 34-year-old Adam Michael Packard of Statesville.
Detectives discovered Packard was not only involved in the attempted home break-ins, but also connected to a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts that occurred between March 24th and March 26th.
The Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and developed probable cause to obtain a search warrant for Packard’s residence on Henderson Drive. During the search, deputies recovered multiple items reported stolen from the recent vehicle break-ins, helping return property back to the victims. Investigators also located approximately 57 dosage units of Clonazepam, 3.52 grams of marijuana, and packaging materials consistent with a sale and delivery of narcotics.
Packard now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to vehicle break-ins, theft, and drug offenses, and is currently being held in the Iredell County Detention Center under a secured bond of $155,000.
