Statesville Man Charged With Rape In Wilkes County

A Statesville man has been charged with first-degree rape and other felony and misdemeanor offenses in Wilkes County.

Kenneth Wayne Sparks, 48, is charged with kidnapping, incest, second-degree rape and indecent liberties with a child, all felony offenses. According to warrants, the offenses involve the same female juvenile victim and occurred in January 2002 in Wilkes County.

The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest.

Sparks was simultaneously served with misdemeanor warrants filed by the N.C. Highway Patrol. These warrants charge him with reckless driving/wanton disregard, failure to heed light or siren, driving while license revoked after an impaired revocation notice, having an open container of alcohol and failure to wear a seatbelt.
