Statesville Man Charged With Murder

A Statesville man has been arrested and charged with the June shooting death of D’Angelo Malindsay Barker.

Statesville Police announced Wednesday that Darry Davekio Jordan, age 33, has been charged with murder.

SPD and the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Jordan in Huntersville on Tuesday. He is being held at the Iredell County Detention Center without bond.

Jordan’s arrest followed the Statesville Police investigation of the shooting that occurred about 5:35 am on June 14 in the 100 block of East Allison Street. Barker, age 25, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound to the torso.

This investigation is ongoing.
