Statesville Man Charged With Child Sexual Exploitation

On November 25, the Statesville Police Department, in partnership with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), executed a search warrant at a residence on Royalty Circle in Statesville. The operation was part of an investigation into the possession of child sexual exploitation material commonly referred to as child pornography.

This search followed an extensive investigation that began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) sent multiple CyberTip reports between June and October 2024. These reports led investigators to identify Michael Todd Everidge, 62, of Statesville, as the primary suspect.

On November 26, 2024, Everidge was interviewed by authorities, arrested, and charged with six counts of Second-Degree Child Sexual Exploitation. He is currently in custody at the Iredell County Detention Center with a $210,000 secured bond.
