Statesville Man Charged With Assaulting Police Officer

A Statesville man has been charged after a series of incidents on July 3rd.

Statesville Police arrested 43-year-old Demarcus Lamont Maddox and charged him with assault on a female, battery on an unborn child, resisting a law enforcement officer and child abuse. He was also charged with felony assault-inflicting serious physical injury to a law enforcement officer. Maddox is no longer listed in custody. His next court date in July 23rd in Statesville.

Maddox has earlier pending charges that include assault on a government employee, hit and run with property damage and driving with license revoked.
