On May 17, 2026, a traffic stop conducted by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on Wilkesboro Highway led to the recovery of a stolen firearm and illegal narcotics.
At approximately 2:10 p.m., Sergeant Souther stopped a Volvo and identified the driver as Jiceri Sankwan Tucker, 29 years old, of Statesville. During the stop, it was discovered Tucker’s North Carolina driver’s license was suspended.
Deputy Greene and Canine Elio responded to assist with the investigation. While on scene, Canine Elio alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a stolen Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm handgun along with cocaine.
Investigators confirmed the firearm had previously been reported stolen through an earlier case handled by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant Souther also determined Tucker had a prior felony conviction from 2023, making it unlawful for him to possess a firearm.
Tucker was arrested and charged with:
▪ Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
▪ Felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm
▪ Felony Possession of Cocaine
▪ Felony Maintain Vehicle for Controlled Substance
▪ Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
▪ Misdemeanor Driving While License Revoked.
He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he’s being held without bond.
