As the result of a traffic stop on Wednesday evening, 20-year old Daniel Charles Schmidtka III of Statesville has been arrested by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He’s charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling or place for controlled substance. Schmidtka was also served a failure to appear warrant from Caldwell County. He’s being held in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond.
