Authorities in Statesville have confirmed that one person died in a house fire on Tuesday.
Statesville units were dispatched to what is being called an abandoned home on Old Charlotte Road around 5pm.
On Wednesday, Statesville Police said the victim was 68-year-old William De Giovanti Shalima Watkins.
The investigation is continuing by the Fire Marshall’s Office and Statesville Police.
