Statesville Couple Busted On Felony Drug Charges

December 14, 2023 By Richard C. Gilbert

Justin Ray Perdue- Amanda Christine Wolowitz

34-year-old Justin Ray Perdue and 29-year-old Amanda Christine Wolowitz, both from the same address on Dellinger Drive in Statesville, have been arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Deputies on felony and misdemeanor drug charges. Both suspects were charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Perdue was charged with felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver meth and maintaining a vehicle for the use of a controlled substance, along with misdemeanor counts of driving while license revoked, displaying an expired registration plate, and expired inspection.

Events leading to the arrests began on November 20 when a Deputy stopped a 1997 Toyota at Beulah Road near Old Mountain Road for multiple traffic violations. Another Officer and K-9 Wilbur responded to assist with the traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, Justin Ray Perdue, the K-9 Officer gave a positive indication to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. A search was conducted, leading to the discovery of three bags containing a total of 14.78 grams of crystal meth, digital scales, and drug paraphernalia.

On December 11, felony warrants for Perdue’s arrest were issued, but Deputies were not able to locate Perdue at the Dellinger Drive address. While Deputies were at the residence, they spoke to Amanda Christine Wolowitz. She was found to be in possession of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia at that time. Wolowitz was taken into custody and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center where she was held without bond.

The next day, Officers returned to the Dellinger Drive residence. Officers found Perdue hiding inside the residence. He was taken into custody and given a $50,000 secured bond. Perdue will appear in District Court on January 8, while Wolowitz has an appearance scheduled for January 3.

Perdue has a criminal history that includes seven counts of driving while license revoked, along with misdemeanor counts of maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of marijuana, simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of stolen goods.

Wolowitz’s criminal history includes three misdemeanor counts of maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and felony possession of meth.
